Anybody bought from LockPicks.com with problem?

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Anybody bought from LockPicks.com with problem?

Is there anybody brought tools from LockPicks.com ?
Its strange that they told me they don't ship their products to Asia with no reason.
Also, its seems that they don't often check their mail box.

I know several people who have ordered from lockpicks.com with no problems. They are the only place I've heard of that sells Peterson picks online so I have sent several people to them. I think they take their customer service seriously. I know one person who ordered a Peterson bifold set and received the wrong item. They sent him a trifold set at no additional charge and included overnight shipping.

I have ordered from them several times with no problems. In fact, I have never used their customer service system since I have had no need to. However if its their policy not to ship to Asia, then I am sure they have some reason (a lot of time the support staff may not know why, they are just 'following orders' from above). It could be they are worried about local laws, it is too hard/costly to receive payments from that area or they have had a rash of fraudulent orders from there.

You could check out other retails like southord.com to see if they do ship to Asia.

I've dealt with them, and they're a wonderful company. To be honest, if I had an internet business, I don't know that I'd ship to Canada, much less to Asia.

Last time I sold anything overseas was to Belgium... it was a $20 item, and shipping was somewhere around $40, and there was quite a bit of paperwork to fill out. They probably make $5-$10 (rough estimate) on a set of lockpicks... just not worth the time. Especially when it's a shadyish item, like lockpicks are.

This is a pretty popular subject that regulary pops up, and the replys in this thread are good, just seems a shame it will be lost amongst the rest of the threads sooner than later.
Wouldn't it be handy to have a Hyperlink on the main board ie: Lockpicking Retailers to buy from or Avoid (What's Hot & What's Not!) not a FAQ or Sticky, a link so that the individual threads (ie:Lockpicks.com) can be navigated more easily.
I think we have all at some point been drawn in by good advertising only to find that when money changes hands that that's not the only thing that changes, and what seemed to be a good looking site to buy from gives you nothing but trouble...?

I have orderd from lockpicks.com multiple times and so far they have given me the best service of any of the sites that I have orderd from.

The other day I ordered one of their clear practice locks with spool pins but, when I got it they had sent me the one without spool pins. I called them up and explained what had happened and asked if they could just send me the spool pins and I would replace them myself. Instead of sending me the spool pins they told me they would send me a new lock with spool pins and let me keep the one with standard pins. If that isn't good service I don't know what is.

problem with lockpicks.com

Postby sgrunspan » 1 Feb 2004 4:03

I have read only positive things about lockpicks.com, so I decided to make my first online purchse from them. I never received my order so I tried to email them. Emails to sales and info@lockpicks.com were returned because the accounts didn't exist. When I called them they said they would try to track my package and would call me back. I had to call them again and finally they agreed to re-ship my order. Again, there's a lot of positive posts about them, but my experience has been entirely negative.
