locked myself out of my bathroom

Postby lockedmyselfout » 11 Nov 2005 19:35

i have a bathroom that i locked myself out of.

the lock is old, about 15 years and has a hole in the middle of the lock. when i was a kid, the doors to my bedroom had a similar look and all i had to do was to put in a paperclip and the clip would push on something and i could open the door.

i tried the same thing on this door but no go.

then i looked on the internet and found this site so i figured you all could give me some advice before i have to call in a locksmith.

thanks ...

Tell us where you live.

Take a pic of the lock for us.

Tell us how youve locked yourself out of your bathroom without the key.

try a small screw driver and see if there is a knotch inside that you have to turn, not push. Dont force the screw driver, just be gentle.
nothn a 9 cant fix.

locked myself out of the bathroom.

Postby lockedmyselfout » 11 Nov 2005 19:41

i actually didn't lock myself out, i locked the door and went out the side door to go outside and my mom came in and closed the door behind me.

and i don't have the key to the door that goes outside either because apparently the key that opens all the other doors of the house, doesn't open this one. ;'<

i live in cape coral florida.

Sounds like a normal bathroom lock. A small long flat head screwdriver, inserted into the hole, and turned clockwise will get you in. Be sure to flush when you are done. :D

Took the words out of my mouth. Sometimes you have to turn insted of push with those locks. Also try jimmying the door with the credit card or somthing else you dont need  . If it is just a bathroom door, odds are it won't have a latch lock tab.

that's cause when people are locked out of their homes that is one thing but when they are locked out of their bathrooms, then we are talking emergency.
