Does anyone have any information on how to obtain a Bramah padlock?
I have searched around, but the only locks coming up are the deadlocks for doors.
Bramah USA has a picture of one, but they only sell the window locks it seems..

Any info would be apreciated

Thats why I posted in the european locks section, the US division of Bramah doesn't carry them, I only linked the page for the picture.
The only padlocks ive found so far are all antique ones. As cool as they are, I would hate to ruin one playing around with it =)

I've never seen a modern Bramah padlock in a catalogue. I've seen a few older ones, though.
At a guess, they would cost a small fortune.
On the USA site, they have a window lock video, but if you watch it, can you answer this - what stops you unscrewing the entire thing back out the frame?

Not having one in my hands, I would assume that the key would connect the outer shell/tool to the thread in part. The shell probably spins freely, preventing you from unscrewing it.

We don't look in this forum much because you're all a bunch of bleeding loonies
Seriously, just a few threads of you people with your British slang, British conventions, and the unnerving fact that you all seem to personally know everybody in the entire country, and I start looking for the Guinness and driving on the wrong side of the road.

They are available, it will probably set you back around US$300 or so.
I will post Bramah's contact details if you want them.

Vec, it was you guys who followed the French and switched the side of the road over...
Chrometsuba, I see what you mean. An extraction tool for these would, I think, be fairly trivial.

Oldlock: ouch.... i didn't think they would be that expensive... although, looking at the prices for door locks, its probably not that surprising.
Since they require registration with Bramah, do they frown on exporting the locks out of the country?
NKT: depends, It might use some sort of actual lock mechanism to prevent you from just sticking something in and opening it, but from the drawings on their website, just an obscure shape is all it takes.

Came across your queries the other day. You can buy a Bramah BP17 medium range padlock with two keys for £92.17 plus vat, which converts to US$156.69, plus carriage. In the region of £25, though probably less . If your interested we will ship anywhere in the world. Call Paul on +44 2074861739 or email him at lock.sales@bramah.co.uk or visit him at 31 Oldbury Place, Marylebone, London, W1U 5PT

And here we see why Bramah locks are so rare! My entire shed barely cost £200, so putting a £100 lock on the door would require a heck of an upgrade!
What I really want is a euro cylinder (or, specifically, three, KA) the right lengths for my doors! I don't want to go with that cheap foreign Abloy junk...
