American lock

Ok I have an old american lock or atleast I think Its old. The number on the bottem Is 1894. I could not find anything about This lock on the net can anyone help me? I cannot open It either It seems the pins are gummed up and wont set. help? :evil: I would post a pic but I cannot find the cmaera.

That sounds like the date it was fabricated in. A picture would help a lot.

Hmm, that dosen't make much difference lemme tell ya. Is that your camera that can't take pictures or is it you ? If it's you, focus before shooting.

Clearly, you're putting your object too close for your camera's focal range, so it is choosing to focus on the other thing in the pic... namely, the background. Just take the picture from farther away, then crop out the rest of the stuff in the pic. At 6.1MP, you have plenty of resolution to play with.

Yup! It's broke. I'll swap you for my old 3.1MP cam, some old picks and 3 sticks of gum. :lol:

a good degreaser might help. then blow it out with an air line

Seems to be an old US Army lock as they were commonly impressioned with US. Can't be that old though, American was Junknuc bros. not too long ago, I believe. As for the 1894, That was probably the lock number they used in a Master key system. It is probably still subject to the spools and serrated pins commonly found in American locks. Like mcutzy said, use a mild degreaser or cleaning agent, and then lubricate. That will probably help you out alot
