Alternate tools

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Alternate tools

Like a lot of y'all i've been making a few of my own tools, starting with picks, and other entry tools. Along the way i've picked up a few uncommon tools that have proven to be very useful for entries. For example, I use a plastic 1" drywall spactula (or putty knife) for some door entries instead of the "credit card" trick. I also have a Husky brand metal tool that I can slide in a door as well. Both work VERY well!

So, does anyone care to share any of thier modified tools?

I think that's what we decided. Wasn't even sharp when I found it, though. I've put a bit of an edge on it to help it bite, but it's still hardly a knife...

I have some thin guitar strings in my tool box for similar purposes, namely slipping latches when there's a latch-guard in place, and you need something more flexible but don't want to carry around a coat hanger or something. I'm not sure what string they are, as I'm no musician, but they work sometimes! ~Grit.
