Master 175 lack of feel?

Okay after reading and searching and finding just the forum info I need on http://www.geocities.com/masterunlocked ... heel2.html

I've made a feeler that fits into the discs and passes through the little ridge on the wheels, but I just cannot determine where the flat spot is on the cams! I've spent hours marking, remarking and refiling/refining my feeler gauge and just when I think I've got it, still nothing. So I broke down and cheated - I made a peterson mini-knife and just bypassed it open, hoping I could change the code... but I guess you have to have already have the correct code in order to do so?!
My recent train of thought is what if I knife open the latch holding the locking mechanism, hold it open, and then attempt to insert my DYI change key proceeding to attempt to reset the code discs - does that sound feasible? This is driving me nuts and I'm just burnt out on trying all the possible codes, of which I have made it to 1330 so far

Try making the feeler curve to the right a bit. The wheels are a bit right of the wheels. Changing the combo before the wheels are aligned won't do any good because it only changes the thumb wheel's relation to the wheels so it will still be effectively scrambled. The flat spots are 2-3 numbers wide and the center number is the correct one.

Yeah I totally understand how the lock works, and all the philosophy behind picking it and why it works... I just cannot get it working right for me. I've made the correct right-bend angle and everything needed to get it to hit the cams and "feel" the flat spot, but I just seemed to be missing it... I guess there's nothing much anyone can do for me about it, I just felt that I should post something about it so that if someone else was having any difficulty with the lock they would know that it's just a matter of user feel. Argh this lock is SO simple to bypass, yet I'm just slow right now argh! THanks for the reply.

BTW- I've found a nice material to use for the bypass/feeler pick- the common office clip! The steel is VERY rigid, strong and will flex decently! It would make for nice clips if you could get it in large quantities...

Aww hell! I concede! I'm going to just MANUALLY to every dang combo! 1000/day will land me 9.999 days till I fig out the right one possibly... I'm on 2700/9998 now! hahaha

It's not the amount of numbers it's the constant pushing in on the shackle... had my fingers and palms all sore after a good 1000... guess I need to be more vigilant That completely sucks though. I mean, it's a bad lock, but it's decent enough for some locker, but trying to weight the odds of someone else out there that knows the bypass-exploit Vs Ignorant public is tough...

Bah I think I'll just figure out the pass and prob toss this in the garbage or ebay it. I'm not one to risk my things based on a guesstimate. Thieves are everywhere in Philly! I walk by the same bikes locked up everyday and notice every once in a while you can see where someone was probing the lock for a weakness. Bikes are a high commodity around here, since walking gets you nowhere– fast. Heh I even saw one of those new Krypo D locks with the “unpickable” disc plug get pried off like a toy and tossed in the gutter. D locks are just not the way to go. But I'll save that for another forum.
