This is the old Locksmith business info area and will be broken down to fill in the new sections below.

Well, I got lucky when I choose my name. I know that in my area, there are a ton of locksmiths. I wanted a name that was close to the front of the listings (of the yellow pages), short, clever, easy to remember, and utilized existing marketing.
The name of my company is "1 Quick Pick" - I'm first in the Yellow pages because numbers come before letters, short and clever (I do what the name implies, I primarily do unlocks), easy to remember (people usually go for an easy name that makes sense), and using existing marketing (although most people think of the lottery, but chuckle when I tell them what I do).
I hope i've helped.

There's always just doing business under your given name.

"Bubba Buttofuko"? I think not! (Though it's not my name, I'm sure some poor soul out there may have it. )
If it ain't broke.....pull it down and see how it works anyway!

Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....

You know, I thought about that, but my last name is Rust, and "The rusty Locksmith" didn't sound that spiffy

Wow folks, he's a locksmith AND a comedian
I'll tell y'all something funny 'bout my name.
In HS, one of my science teachers came to me shortly before the end of the first semester of my senior year and told me he was really concerned about me not turning in homework or doing any of the tests.
I asked why he would say that considering I hadn't scored less than a 95% on ALL of my tests and ALL of my homework had his stamp on it.
So, he asked to see one of my papers and noticed that I had been signing all of my papers "3FeO2", sort of a scientific joke that I thought he'd get...
Needless to say I received a 100% for both semesters, and I got to feed the our class constrictor the rest of the year (hey, in HS, seeing a snake playing with a live mouse is pretty entertaining)...
As for the "Trust Locksmith", man, if I got a nickel for every time someone asked me, "what keeps you honest?" i'd be driving a new Bentley...

Well, you're only about a quarter right I'm afraid. Not a locksmith, and only half a comedian... at best.

I was told last week by the yellow pages rep that from end of next year all companies names starting with .... or 000 will be sent to the back cos the letters come before numbers and dots, but you can't trust a salesman.

One of my buddies came up with, "You can pick your freinds, you can pick your nose, we'll pick your locks "
Bad, very bad...
