In the back of some combination locks theres like a serial. Does it mean anything? Like mine is V606 24760580 and an upsidedown 05. But i saw other people who had combo locks with the same first four serial code (V606). And yeah theres a keyhole in the combo lock as well.
Im thinking that only one key can open all those combo locks with V606??? NOt sure. Anyone help?

If the lock you are interested in is at a school, I would highly suggest you leave it alone.
In my schools locker room we have master combos w/ keyholes. The coaches have master keys that can open all of the locks

Most often that not, combination locks in a system (or part of a certain manufacturing run) will operate on the same combo/key. Some cheap padlocks only have 10 different keys for the whole range (KA1, KA2, KA3, KA4, KA5, KD1, KD2, etc. etc....)
Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....

Sorry, I guess I was trying to convey the pointlessness of having a Master key system on a lock you can bypass with [REDACTED]. In my defence though the original poster already knows how to use [REDACTED]. I have helped him on other topics relating to combo locks. I didnt reveal anything that could not be found out by typing [REDACTED] in the Search area by a dozen other people (yourself included)

It doesn't matter what EXCUSE you use , what AUTO45 told you is the way it is. Just because you or your friend knows how to do it or that it can be researched doesn't mean you can bypass the rules and talk about something illegal. The knowledge might be there, but it doesn't need to be draged out into the open, with knowledge comes responsibility

Treating [REDACTED] with any more secrecy than basic lockpicking knowledge is beyond ridiculous. [REDACTED] opens padlocks. Basic lockpicking knowledge opens 90% of all keyed locks.

Towch, are you saying that its okay to discuss opening school locks that aren't your own, I thought these two things were taboo, am I wrong. I wasn't talking about the ease of doing it, just that it doesn't seem to be the proper thing to discuss here, would a moderator give his opinion here to clarify this

Since none of the other members have answered your question, and I had an interesting debate with a few on the topic I'll answer this way. To the best of my knowledge the numbers on the back will not directly let you open the lock, you need additional info for this. Without the info the other methods of opening the lock are probably much better. To the older members I'm only erring on the side of caution, if the info isn't top secret, give him the complete answer, sometimes a person doesn't know what is ok or not. Hope this helps, on helping out I'm new and trying not to make mistakesl
