Few words of well-deserved gratitude :)

It took me over a week to go over most of the forum... at first it seemed ambiguous, and to be honest i believed it to be useless... but, oh, how wrong I was! :)

I would like to thank everyone that has contributed to gathering all the videos, guides, and to everyone patiently giving answers to the endless flow (often probobly annoying) of questions. I really admire what you do, and how much effort many of you have put into explaining the basics to the newbies over and over again. Than you!

I also wish to thank all the people that helped to put all the info together in a compact and accessible maner! (zeke79! This one's for you:) )

It would be a shame not to thank the moderators and administrators of this forum! Thank you for making it all possible for keeping the forum clear and presentable:>

One thing struck me quite hard while reading through the forum, and so:
I also would like to apologize for the image that some people from my country have created... Sorry!
I know stereotypes are hard to abolish, but I will try to do my best :)

And at the end I would just like to say what was it, that put me in such a thankgiving:> mood:
I've picked my first lock :) It was(is) a 6pinned tumbler lock (euro style, becouse us style is scarcely avaliable here). It took me around 30-40 minutes, and i didn't really think that it will be possible ( so I was watching a movie in the same time), and when the plug turned i was astonished, to say the least! :)
Oh... one more thing to mention... The pick was a small safety-pin with the stinging end piled down, and the tansion wrench was made out of a small paper clip. I had some problem at the start, as i was trying to use a paper clip as a pick too, but it gave me very little room to maneuver [tough word to spell :D], so i had to work with the safety-pin, which had the disadvantage of bending with my almost every try at a pin... But somehow i did it :) It happened lat night at about 3am... At about 5am my 'pick' broke:). Today it takes me about a minute or two to do it with ease (but i made it once in just a few seconds - lucky I guess;) )

The feeling is amazing!! Although my right hand first finger hurt like hell after a day's training:D
When I find some time and a gridner, I'll start working on my first pick set according to the template found on zeke79's site (198kb lockpicktemplate.rar).

Oh.. almost forgot:

THANK YOU, EVERYONE!!! :)

And to all the other newbies:
It is really possible! You just have to try, and it will come! Just don't overdo with the tension, and you don't have to use a lot of force on the pin/pics. Patience is all it takes! ...and, oh, it is worth it! :D

Excellent post. Great to find another new member, with enough patience and self-restraint to actually read before posting.
Good job on the pick, especially considering the tools used. :)

Keep at it. With the patience shown so far, I'm sure you'll enjoy this hobby.

And n00b week (formerly n00b day) comes to a fitting close. Welcome to the site Aqua! Those are very encouraging words. Great work on your first victory. If you've got the bug now, let me tell you there's almost no end to it.

Good to have you aboard. Happy picking!
