Wasnt this the same question posted last month? i think the concensus was to take the case back.

Other than that its not much effort to sit there and try all the differant combos

Yep, your best bet is 001, 002, 003, etc. It really will not take long once you get going on it.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Once you get the hang of it, under 10 minutes is more likely. ;)

Well, I haven't done speed trails on a samsonite, but on a master 3 wheel, I can get through all combinations in under 6 minutes. So, given a 50/50 chance of getting it below the halfway point, that makes for less than 3 minutes to open. If it wasn't so stupidly easy to manipulate, I'd hardly bother.

Time needed to open depends on the combination set.

The combination on your luggage is "1-2-3-4-5"

Seriously though, default combinations tend to be somethign like 111, 000, 123, etc. Try the basic ones like that first.

Thinking about it, I would suggest that running through the combo 000, 100, 200, 300, etc. would result in a faster opening than the usual 001, 002, etc.

Thoughts?

Oh, and start by testing 990, 999, 090 and 099 before 000. From talking at school, many years ago, 007 was the most popular code, so try that too.

Of course, I tend to pick them rather than brute-force them.

Oh, and just a thought, but since this is YOUR bag, you should be able to recall one of your favorite numbers and try those, or recall at least one of the digits...

After all, the new Samsonite, Delsey, etc. cases all come with a little tag to secure the combination to 000 whilst unsold.

And what do you do on a plane? Read a little, glance at other passengers, eye up the stewardesses, twiddle your thumbs...

This time could be better spent going through the combinations, unless you get stopped at baggage-check beforehand.

"Sir, I need to look in your briefcase."

"I don't have the combination."

"Get down on the ground! DOWN ON THE GROUND!! NOW!!"
