I went to the lockal locksmith, and asked him to make a copy of my key and a "999" copy of the same key. He was a little suspicious, but made the keys. I have filed som of the tip and the shoulder myself. Is it possible to tell from the picture (and the text) if the key is any good?

It looks to me as though that key MAY be for a
wafer lock, in which case, I would not try to bump.

Also, If it is for a pin tumbler lock, what happens if
you are trying to bump a 9cut pin?

I would probably shave a tiny bit off the cut depths because it is quite a popular belief that 10-10-10
keys are better.

Having said that, I have never bothered to try bumping.

I guess though, from some of the pictures that I
have seen of bump keys, that aparrently work and
considering that the depth and spacing was
professionally done, it seems nice.

That's always been the problem for me, locks with deep cuts in the combo.

Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....
