Dyno Kwick Lock Pick.... a newbie's raking pick

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Dyno Kwick Lock Pick.... a newbie's raking pick

The Dyno Kwick Lock Pick has been seen all over the net for quite a while.

Many of the users here consider it a piece of crap. Its over priced and the design is intended for raking the pins as opposed to picking the pins.

Some consider raking the lazy man's way and not as precise or effective as individually picking the pins.

However you may learn something by looking at some of the available info.

Fisher Industries who produces the Dyno Kwick Lock Pick makes the instruction sheet for it available at

http://www.fisherindustriesinc.com/kwick%20inst.pdf

Even more interesting is the patent for this device at
http://www.freepatentsonline.com/6082159.html

This happens to be one of the easier patents to read. You can read about the pick and how its supposed to work, see the mechanical drawings for it, and more interestingly see what lockpicking designs it copied from.

By the way ......the blue pick at the top of this website's page happens to be a Dyno with the identifying marks removed or hidden.

I see no difference between that and a normal rake.

The dyno pick is ok for locks with big keyways but i have found it to be a bit to thick to get into the slimmer type keyways.
I think i have used mine all of a handfull of times.
Still like illusion said it does look good when you pop the rake out.

illusion - no it doesn't pop out. There's a thumb screw that you use to push out the pick against the spring.

Yes, I have one . First pick I had. It broke, thumb screw twisted off. Now I'm making some of my own. But for a pick that I didn't mail order it was OK. I bought it off a tool truck that came to an auto dealership that I was working at.
Don't ask, just enjoy the ride.

The name is there to make them talk.

If you undo the end of the quick pick and then put the spring on the other side of the pick then it will pop out?
