I can make them no problem but the time and effort required isnt realised in the final selling price so i dont bother.
For me to make them for sale i would want at least £50 on top of the lock price and on complicated locks i would want more, perhaps im just greedy.

Chrispy wrote:*Off topic* I was playing around with the Abloy decoder the other day. Put the key in, turn it and it tells you the direct key code and the indirect key code. Pretty nifty. I only mention it because at first I thought it was a cutaway of some sort.
I want to make one for tibbe keys, any pointers Chrispy?

Shrub: Probably old hat to you. I just bought a 'make your own ford tibbe ignition lock to match your own key' kit off eBay for £8. Big pile of little parts. It just came today. Should be fun working out what to do with all the little pieces. Getting there slowly.
I would post a picture but I have a feeling it's not 'suitable'.

Yes i saw it, its somthing i seem to have quite a few of, the reson i ask for a tibbe reader is that i have a tibbe machine but it cuts to code ford and jag keys but not copy them, i need to manually read the customers key and then cut it to code, its no big problem and i can get the code with a quick look but it would be nice to have somthing there to guarentee and not need me to keep re-reading the key everytime i want to double check it.

Yes, Zeke just told me that on MSN. I thought it was an Abloy because we had a previous conversation where he told me he was getting an Anchor Las padlock with a Protec cylinder in it.

Yup, the same seller. His ebay username is "robbieg2" or something like that.

Zeke, if that's a cutaway that you made, my hat is off to you.
Shrub, hmmmmm tibbe key decoder. The workshop techs at work have this eerie ability to look at a tibbe key and spout off the cuts. I wouldn't have a clue where to start to tell you the truth.
Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....
