Hard to pick lock design.

Postby jellywerker » 10 Dec 2005 17:39

I designed a lock for medium security applications. (I'll try to get some pictures up when I have my pc back.) It uses a bit of the design from another type of very high security lock, of which I forget the name.

The basic premis is that you have a larger than normal cylinder. cut into it is a a key slot that is twice as wide as a nromal key slot, but since it is horizontal it's twice as tall I guess. Anyways, there are 2 sets of 4 (or 6) pins set at an angle. The key is flat with 2 parallel lines of holes, at different depths, to drop the pins to the correct height. That's prettymuch it, but it would seem to me to be very hard to pick. Any thoughts on this?

Actually yes, I've never seen that design before though. I didn't know it already existed. Whoops... It does have some slight differences, but not enough to not get sued over :D

It is a very big multlock. I missed the purchase of this lock unfortunately  . I am still on the lookout for one right now :P and will hopefully find one soon. If I have to, I may purchase one of these from MulTlock themselves.

Is it one of the wooden ones?

Ive often thought about making one or two giant locks for sale to trainers but never found a market.

Ive seen the falle one used in the training sessions, that one you can change the biting of which i thought was a good idea.
