variation on 4-lever lock

I have a simple 4-lever lock that is hard to pick. There are essentially four levers that need to be lifted simultaneously, using a barrel key. Each lever acts as it's own 'bolt' if I've got the lingo right. The lock came from a roll-top desk. There is no permanent un-locked position; the levers spring back into locked position whenever the key is unturned or removed.
The levers have slightly-different starting positions. There are no wards.
I have read the MIT guide and 'Illusion's' guide to lever locks, but they both seem to require that the lock be progressively picked, lever by lever or pin by pin. The kind of lock I have doesn't seem to allow that.
Can anyone give some ideas?

Illusions guide should be the way to go.

There is so much space in that keyway you should be able to see whats happening in the lock anyway,
