Hello guys, im a guy who just started lockpicking and i just made it a hobby... While trying to pick my Padlock at school i pressed down some pins to the left.. i guess all pins are in a row.. but im using simple steel wire and have not too much options.. the padlock refused to open... anyone recommend another option than the steel wire.. please dont say bra pin, hairpin or lockpick set.. :( ... thank you all guys

hello mate :)

now you will have lots of fun using the right tools for the right job.

On this forum we actively encourage picking a lock you do not rely on, so I would advise you to purchase another padlock that you son't care about if it's damaged.

To begin the fun, click the link under my signature and let the fun begin! :D

Whoa whoa whoa, it matters. If you're bypassing the lock on YOU locker what's to stop you from bypassing the other kiddies locks too? that's not so nice. We really frown on anything that remotely resembles crime in this forum, so please, find a different, and better lock. go to a local locksmith and ask him if he has any spare, used lock you can buy for cheap, don't mess with public equiment.

yes you can make your own very cheaply... you need a single hacksaw blade and a file.

buy a cheap dead-bolt lock then read through the threads that I linked you to.

You want to read digital_blue's guide to help beginners pick locks, and then read my guide on how to take apart your lock to remove some pins.
Once you have followed digital_blue's advice you should be picking your lock in no time.

Although the best would be to buy a small set of lockpicks - but for some reason I think you are going to tell me you can't buy them, if so search this site for some pictures and templates for lockpicks and make your own from hacksaw blades.

also you will need a tension wrench... this is the "L" shaped piece of metal used to turn the plug of the lock.

If this is new to you then : YOU MUST READ THE MIT GUIDE TO LOCKPICKING!!

it is free and can be found in the FAQ section of this site.

Make sure you buy a lock you can take apart by the way.

Also fill in your profiloe to include the country you live in

I don't think people are going to give you much more information until you start doing some reading, darkmaster400. You need to follow the "Click this link" in illusion's posts and read up in the "All About Skillz" and "All About Tools" sections so that you know some basics.

It's pretty easy stuff, but there's a lot to know, and once you can tell us what kind of locks you're working on and what problems you're having, there's plenty of people here who will be glad to help you learn more.

I think after you've seen the proper tools, and done some of the exercises, you'll see how it sounds to us for someone to ask: "I'm standing here with some wire in a lock. Now how do I get it open?"

no this is a bad idea.

a safety pin may work but you should make a set - it will cost you maybe £3 in total.

If this is a stretch wait untill you have enough money to buy a small set (£15)

I have nothing more to say - if you do not have enough moneyt to make picks then you won't have enough to buy your own practice lock.

follow the advice you have been given and then come back ready to learn.
