Plug Removal

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Plug Removal

Postby pyrobeav_2005 » 3 Dec 2003 1:17

I have been trying to create a key to some locks. I can't find any place that will sell me key blanks so I can't impression fit a key. So I was wondering how a person could pull the plug out. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

I've took the lock from the door to my room and took the plug out. You should see two holes on either side of the keyhole-side of the knob. You should be able to push them in, turn the knob, and take apart the casing. On top of the cylinder, pop off the metal plate on the top (CAREFULLY) and remove the pins pair by pair in order and key the lock that way.

We need more info on the brand/model etc of your lock. More is always better.
