Warning: KABA locks

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

I've got nothing to go on here, but I'm not sure I agree that the cam would be engaged that early in the rotation.

One could go with the age old trick of picking the cylinder and turning a few degrees and then filling the keyway tightly with thread or similar type string  .
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

You know, I keep hearing about this "age old trick" but I honestly don't see this working...at all. I have trouble believing that you would be able to pack the string in a way that would allow you to do this. I would LOVE someone to prove me wrong with a video, though! :-P

I could see loctite working, although I wouldn't be looking forward to cleanup!

To put one on your door you'll need a couple screw drivers. 8)

Zeke,
Do you just push thread in until no more will go in?
Do you just use anything to push it in?

Shrub,

I pack the thread in there as tight as I can using a pick that will enter the keyway. I fill it completely full until I can not push anymore in.
