I think that I've come to the conclusion that male
lockpickers either:

--------------
1) Don't get much:

This is supported by the fact that there are regular
threads such as this one - indicating significant frustration
pent up inside everyone.

2) Get so much:

..and are therefore constantly randy that they just overflow
their thoughts into threads such as these. Lockpicking must
realy make your hands so sensitive that....well..

3) Are all teenagers.

who are just bursting with testosterone and don't know what to do with it.
--------------

Personally I like to think that it's number 2. why am I even writing a post this
long!?! is it to compensate for something? is it because I'm frustrated at not
getting any this past week!? ... must... resist...urge...to... search...for...
oil...party....pictures....at....work....
Oh look! it's 2016!

Funny.

I don't classify under any of those. Just lost teenager status about 11 days ago and the other two you can figure out. Something around the middle maybe? That list is missing a choice.

I've never heard of Mazola parties either but I get the picture from what was said, most particularly from Romstar's addition of oil.

I've never even heard of Mazola oil for that matter I think.

Romstar, what's this rubbish you throw out about "girls like you for who you are"???? That's just a myth that parents tell their children in case they come out partially deformed. Thus, the quarterback always has the cute girlfriend and the girls throw themselves at millionaires... :P

Find a Shelia with something more than large breasts and air between her ears, and you will have a partner for life.

Or at least until you screw something up.

Look for girls who can construct a sentence without using the word "like". Find a girl who cares about how she looks, but isn't obsessed with sitting by the mirror.
Look for a girl not only with a sense of humour, but a girl you have to work a little to make laugh. If she giggles at everything, move along.
Find a girl who not only knows how to balance a cheque book, but feels that it is a necessary life skill.
Find a girl who has ambitions beyond next weeks pair of shoes.

You have to realize that relationships are based on a little more than actually meets the eye.

Oh, and the quaterback's girl?

She's had three kids, the quarterback spent most of his time at the bar talking about the old games, swilling beer and developing a beer gut.
He generally didn't go anywhere in life, and now his girl is a divorced single mother who has a hard time collecting the child support. When her quarterback ex-husband is working, and not swilling more beer.
And if she's lucky, she's still decent enough looking to get a job at Hooters, because she was too busy playing social butterfly back in school to realize that she had the rest of her life to think about.

Realize this. With a mind and some desire, you are already further ahead.

Amen Romstar. I could go on for an hour or so about society's misguided conceptions of love and relationships, but I'll save that for another time. But for right now, I'll just say two bits of advice which I think are some of the most important.

1) Find someone you enjoy talking to. Looks fade and so does libido.

2) Remember that you are your own person, and s/he is her/his own. That means none of this "I love you and you can complete my life and I cannot live without you" crap which Hollywood and all the love poets like to spout off. Especially the "I am responsible for my lover's happiness, and he/she is for mine" garbage. The only person's happiness you are responsible for is your own. Don't get me wrong, I do believe that a person has a responsibility to be supportive of their lover, but they are not, and CANNOT be responisble for it. I'll go into more detail of my argument if someone wants me to, but hopefully this advice will suffice for now.

I would venture to guess that most guys who are set on impressing girls with lockpicking aren't exactly concerned with the long term. If you are able to convince a gal that you're a nice, honest, law abiding citizen (don't mention lockpicking beforehand,) You can use it. I like to invite dates up to my apartment where I (Oh no!) realize I don't have my keys. I then ask to borrow her hairpins and open the lock with them. (I say I learned how in the military, which is true.) The last thing you should do is whip out your picks and a padlock in some restaurant and show her there, she may think you're some sort of sleazy criminal.

I can only think of one way to leave an impression on a woman, and it's not very nice. American women don't generally appreciate being smacked, and the last thing it will lead to is a long term relationship. It's actually against the law out here. :P

Unless you're heading back from a wedding, you're not likely to find a girl that carries hairpins with her on a regular basis.

Now that's good

Postby ForFun » 24 May 2007 11:28

As for the topic of dates, you just need to explain to the ladies how lock picking adds to your abilities. You improve your patience, the ability to concentrate on important tasks and most of all your ability to handle tiny sensitive objects with your soft careful fingertips while trying to find just the right spot [/quote]
Now that's good. Don't think it could have been said better.
