I believe you can get the cylinder out of this lock... if I'm right you just grind/file away all the bolts on the bottom of this lock that stick out... then you pull the front plate of metal off and you shopuld be able to pull the entire cylinder out...

I'm not 100% sure if it applies to your lock so i won't go on :?

I suggested you take the cylinder out because it will make it easier to pick without the rest of the padlock getting in the way... it is destructive if you want to use this padlock for locking something, but it will be fine for practing.

The other reason I suggested this is because it will let you see if there are any security pins in it.

If you decide to take it apart, the link to the site for dissasembling your lock is here: http://dp.penix.org/locks/cl.html

I don't think this lock has any security pins though... strange, but then again somebody might know more than I do about this lock.

Use your Half Diamond pick (the 3rd from the left) then apply light tension while Raking the pins it should open if you do it right. BTW your lock only has 4 pins you can tell that by looking at the key. Looks like a 3215 code but I am just guessing based on the picture and the fact that the part of your key that normally has the code stamped on it is missing :?:
The way to be safe is to never be secure.

Use your last tool on the right, turn it upside down (the South Ord writing will be upside down) and use light tension whilst raking, it sould pop in seconds if you get it right.

We could all just keep going on this by suggesting all your tools until you do it but its just practice.

You could do it the proper way and use the proper tension (the tension will bind 1 pin) and use the hook to feel for each pin and set themindividually.

Its just a bit more practice.

You ask me why I let off the tension bar, in this case is was only because I could fell the pins where not setting right and the pick was getting stuck, so I let off to get the tension off the pick. If I was picking a high security lock I let off the for other reasons, and I would not be using a rake.
