Schlage spanner

If you laugh at this, I will end you.

I have one of these d*mned things Image

I know the little tab on the back is good for depressing release buttons on knobsets, but what the h*ll's the rest of it for? It SEEMS like it should be useful for any number of things, but it's not.

Schlage spanner wrench

The little “tab “ is for pushing the retaining pin on a knob. The curved part with the tab on the inside of the curve is for tightening / loosening the inside escution ( part that covers the hole in the door) on grade 1 locks ( schlage “d”) or on mortise locks. Handy to have around if you work with Schlage “D” or “L”.

There are some Grade 1 Schlages on our house; is there any literature from Schlage (or anyone) illustrating how this works?

Yes but only for removing the collar and undoing the back cover with the other end.

The one pictured is a double ended 'C' spanner the one i have for digital locks is a c on one end and the pointy bit on the other.
