I know the little tab on the back is good for depressing release buttons on knobsets, but what the h*ll's the rest of it for? It SEEMS like it should be useful for any number of things, but it's not.
The little “tab “ is for pushing the retaining pin on a knob. The curved part with the tab on the inside of the curve is for tightening / loosening the inside escution ( part that covers the hole in the door) on grade 1 locks ( schlage “dâ€) or on mortise locks. Handy to have around if you work with Schlage “D†or “Lâ€.

Cant see the pic but im guessing its whats called a 'C' spanner, they are often used on digital locks as well but yes i concur with the above responces for what its worth.
