Could you help about ITO & KALE (Turkish Brand Locks)

European hardware -lever locks, profile cylinders specific for European locks. European lock picks and European locks.

Could you help about ITO & KALE (Turkish Brand Locks)

Postby Olcaytug » 30 Dec 2005 11:42

I'm a beginner and I picked my lock a few days ago in one minute. It was a very simple padlock of the brand Kale.

Here in my country, these two brands are used everywhere, and I can't find any other brands. So I have to work with these.

Especially the brand "ITO" usually has extremely difficult entering, due to its irritating wardings. I thing this brand should be of European standards.

If anyone has ever worked on these brands... Could you give some hints, advises?

Regards...

I have detected some mistakes about my language on the post above. Excuse me for my moderate English :)

What is your country? Fill out yer profile

I dont know the brands but if your struggleing getting your picks in you need to make some thinner ones or thin yours down.

A euopean set mayu be the way to go.

Any chance of a pic of the keyway so we can see what your having problems with?

Here is the photo:

I have only made a slim line rake pick (between full hook and half hook) and a tension tool.

As I try to enter from left, near the warding on the right, I can't reach the 5th pin(and even 4th one is difficult). When I enter above the right warding (Inserting the narrow end of my tension tool at the top horizontally), I can't touch the pins!

Even if I reach the pins, I can't feel or manipulate them do to the force I need to apply as I move my pick. What can I do?

Please help!!!!

You are angleing your pick arent you and not just lifting it up or down?

You should be able to reach your 4th and 5th pins when on the left, have you used templates for your picks and are they to the correct size?

Yes, I angle upwards to enter, then downwards to feel the pins.

Otherwise I can't enter at all

that's a Yale A1 keyway isn't it?...

just needs practice really... slimline picks work best on these.

I used the Southord slim line templates. Actually I didn't try to make it precisely. Right now I'm working on one that will be precise.

But my pick could open the padlock easily.

To be honest it looks a bit bigger (higher) than a A1 but either way its a pretty standard keyway and you shouldnt be having any problems.
