do you have?

Postby raimundo » 3 Jan 2006 9:27

Do you have a dimple lock to pick, can anyone recommend a dimple lock to start with, I have an 8 pin Sergeant Keso, and there is very little room in there for a matador pick, between the pins i mean, not the huge area beneath them, someone yesterday gave me a tiny key marked kaba micro. to pick this lock would require some tiny tools. your question should also include the possibility of making your own dimple pick tools, Digital Blue has posted some pictures of some matador types he made, he might have some advise on that, like what sort of metal stock to use. there is also a picture somewhere of a plier that was adaped to making matador type tools with a pinch between round wires. someone might have that link.

I was just having a conversation on dimple locks with illusion the other day. I intend to start working on my own matador set any day now.
I was thinking - windshield wiper insert - less grinding. :)

I believe this is the thread you've mentioned raimundo:

Ive seen those on the net, what price are they?
I think you could make a set of those by getting old keys and drilling the holes all to the same depth but i could be wrong.

You would be better making some from junior hacksaw blades to be honest.

Thats foil impressioning them, you prepare the key further by fileing a little off each face and then put a wrap of foil around it, a wiggle in the lock can be very fruitfull

Its a bit close to the afdvanced/public wire i think but if you have a search Db did post a short how to on the public part when he first came (or not long after he had been here anyway)

New Sparkling.....

Postby The Wanderer » 3 Jan 2006 12:03

I was just looking at that site today for the first time. I should have installed the language pack I guess. Lots of varied and interesting tools. Some I've never seen before. I'm still doing pin tumblers. Haven't moved up to anything else yet. I promised myself I wouldn't buy anymore locks until I get this stupid Yale padlock to open. Bloody thing!
I wonder what kind of cost/hassle is involved in getting overseas merchandise into Canada or the United States? Anyone ordered from them yet?

A truely fantastic little site. Many of the tools look to me to be copies of tools we know and love, but some of them such as the multi-lock picks, look very interesting

Pinky if you order any can you let us know what they are like, i cant rearly get much info from the site. :?

Are these picks available in the UK? :?:
