Master locks on ICBM 'secure storage' cabinet

Postby Heliox » 5 Jan 2006 9:06

Poking around on the net today, I ran across this page with a number of pictures of ICBM launch facilities. In one, you can see a cabinet labeled 'secure storage' with what appears to be a pair of Master 'sesamee' locks. This is probably miscategorized, but I though y'all might find it interesting to see what the US government considers/considered 'secure'.

I suppose, that with the clearance needed to get that close to the cabinet, that those are probably adequate. Still......[/url]

Yeah, I imagine those locks are geared towards "don't lose what's in here" rather than "protect what's in here from being stolen"

According to the drawings, that area is 57' below ground, and behind this door:

its also "DUAL CONTROL" meaning two different people have two different combos for that space.

but someone with enough time could possibly spin the combo through trial and error.

if they are smart, they would rotate combos from day to day or week to week as such.

Those can be bypassed in seconds with a knife tool. Some of them can be opened with two paperclips in less than a minute.

To TOWCH- Can you post instructions on bypassing them with 2 paperclips. I tried searching, but didn't get any results about how to do that.

Thanks!

I posted a thread but it was moved by a mod and I haven't heard what happened to it since. I'll pm you instructions when I have time. It only works on some of the locks though.
