after looking at the pics of burglary doors,
these are no different to jobs that i go to after the police have
effected entry with a raming tool and i'm asked to make good and
secure the door!

after boarding it up or screwing it shut i think to my self if anyones
going to get in they will "robber or police alike".

they use destructive entry both it's quick and effective for their purposes
but we do the same as nde!

no matter what is designed some one will bypass it either nde or destructive!

if a sign is up don't walk on the grass,someone will!
if a lock is unpickable some one will find a way round it!
cb & safe ventures do this every day they exploit flaws in security
and thank god they do or we'd all be in a lot of s**t!

I bet he was, but just the once, and only 'till the fuses blew...

I see a lot of people who are genuinely concerned about it. They are the ones who take the advice. It's all the plebs who won't call a locksmith, and if they are told by one, they ignore it over & again. Then they get burglars helping themselves for want of a cheap lock to help secure a weak point.

I have just returned from a lockout. BS Yale PBS1 on front door, Legge BS 5 lever on back door, and HD brand euro on patio door. Guess which one I went for first!!

After picking the euro in a couple of mins and gaining entry, the customer said that they never use that door. I said why not invest in proper patio door locks that could remain locked. I mentioned that burglars could pick/break the cylinder, use a spade etc to lift door. I even said that I had a couple on the van......etc....etc. So what did customer say? Perhaps we will look at doing that in the summer!!

Beggards belief - BS locks front and back, shite on patio!

yup... expensive locks on the front doors round here, but 3 lever locks on the back doors... it really does only keep honest people out

Explain to the customer they still have 20 minutes left of the hour, and that the lock will only cost them an extra £10, fitted. They'll bite!

Then you drill three holes and fit a cheap patio lock in 10 minutes, and there you go. An extra £10 for a lock that wholesale cost you £3, but would cost them £7 in B&Q, & fitted.

Everyone's happy. Except you when they call you again because they are locked out again... but hey. At least they called you again!
