Just to apprise everyone, it turns out that lock was a dirty liar; it was actually a D knobset (yes, an honest-to-god Grade 1). I ended up disassembling it from the back -- unscrewing the inner roset, pulling the outer assembly off, and taking it down to the point that I could rotate the cap of the cylinder with a screwdriver enough to press the retainer. Hijinks ensued when I had to reassemble the thing. Good times. Grade 1 locks are insane.
