Open lock's old car ?

Postby euskadi125 » 27 Jan 2006 7:20

Hello,
I'm new and looking for advice about opening the door's lock of a 1964 alfa romeo.
I built a pick this week and practise on a standard lock (of a normal door)?
Can i use this pick for the car's lock?
Does car's lock the same mechanism as the standard lock of a door?

Thank you

Is the car yours? Is there a reason you want to pick it? It might to pay to head around to your local wreckers / car yard and pick up some practice locks to work on. Besides, automotive techniques are restricted to the advanced sections. Sorry buddy. :)

But keep on picking standard locks! Try wafer locks with more than five wafers, as these resemble auto locks. :)

Some things may be pick proof, but everything can be bypassed....

sure it is my car, an alfa romeo giulia SS.
There is three keys : one to start the car, one to open the doors and one to open the boot. I lost the boot's key that was similar to the door's key but not the same.
In this car the access to fill in the tank is in the boot !!! so it is very important to open it!

do you think that auto locks of car created in 1964 are hard to open and required advanced sections?

As it seems that all car locks are restricted, here won't be coming a lot of info your way on the public forums, wether it is hard to pick or not.
He adviced you to try some similar locks, and i guess that's all there is to it.

No offence, but i think that advice is all you'll get.
Not because they want to see you struggle, but to keep little nosy evil me out.
And i guess they're right in "locking" me out of the advanced section.

sorry mate but info on car entry is not gonna be given
out to just anyone.

try a local locksmith they'll have the tools to open it
and supply you with a new key.

hope this helps.

As others have pointed out auto-entry is restricted to the advances section, even if it's your matchbox car. A locksmith will be able to solve your problem.
