whats the secret?

European hardware -lever locks, profile cylinders specific for European locks. European lock picks and European locks.

whats the secret?

Hi

Ok, I am practising with the CB pick and doing reasonably well, non-BS Unions etc going well, BS unions not bad but need more practise. Same with Invincibles and Chubbs.

But the brand I have real problems with is Avocet BS. Light pressure doesnt seem to give me any feel for resistant levers. Med pressure likewise, and heavy pressure only seems to react with two or three levers. I have even made a perspex cover so I can see what happens but I just cant get them to engage in gates. More practise I suppose, but is there a particular technique with this brand of lock I should be using?

regards

I find the Avocets a bit like the Legges, only light tension needed and very easy to jump out of the anti-picks. Too much tension and you will overlift.

i had the same problem with avocet

i must have hit every anti pick notch time and time again,
till the moment it popped open!

it's just the feel mate but you will get that in time.

Bonez is right it is just a feel thing. I would ditch the perspex cover because then you are looking at and not feeling what is hapening inside the lock...

Be at one with the lock......

You are the lock.......

There is no lock......

Job done

Lol, weird though that "the matrix way" the way is to open them.
Yay for visualising.

If the lock pops open, and you havn't even touched it they probably wont pay you !

Steve is 100% correct on this one you have to get the feel for the tool which is different for every lock and only comes with hours and days of practise by fitting a clear cover to your lock denies you of this and by doing so is wasteing your time. Trust me prcatise makes perfect and the feel will only come with a lot of it and its well worth it :)
There is always a solution to a problem and a way in without destruction !!!!!
