Corbin padlock

was wondering if anyone has come across one of these.





I know its got wafers in it 4 of them I believe.

Also is there anyway to disassemble this lock?

If seen no catch in the hasp area and the plug does not come out when turned.

Do you mean it actually still functions like a normal lock?

Man that's a lock that has had it's tougher days.

actually yes it does still work.

It looks rougher then it is, my wifes grandfather (I'm assuming) painted it and the twin to it at some time(yes I have 2 of these with keys).

He worked for the railroad all his life and again I am assuming he obtained them from there but who knows for sure.

pickin , cant see from your piccies but if you have the key open it up and look down the hole in the body of the lock where the shackle has just come from and see if the plug(keyway) is retained in the lock by either a screw mechanism or a screw of some description. if it is unscrew it and then see if the plug drops out. hope that helps.

This is a wafer lock and no there is no screw of any kind that I can find under the hasp or anywhere on this lock.

Very odd indeed. I've actually never seen a wafer padlock before this picture.

If I can ever figure out how to take it apart I will post pics for you all.

Im also thinking about trying to cut one of the pair so that you can see how it works just a bit worried I might ruin it without knowing what the guts look like and where to cut.
