Framon 2 $650

Postby ststephen » 6 Feb 2006 14:43

I have the opportunity to buy a used Framon 2 with the Medeco key cutter addition for $650.

I am rather new, and this would be a HUGE dent in my wallet, BUT I also understand that this machine would probably last a lifetime.

Assuming it is in good working order (which it is), would $650 be a fair price?

If I decide that I need to get rid of it, do you think the resale value would be decent?

framon 2

I have seen new with all the spacing blocks , 2 or 3 cutting wheels + the current S&D book , for $1700 ( Hawley Lock Supply)

So if the extras come with the machine the $650 is a pretty good deal

Not as great if the accessorys aren't with it.

You are right ,the machine is built like a tank and and with minimal care should last a lifetime.

The factory phone is answered by the company owner ( Phil Angus) and you will find customer service to be excellent.

I have had mine for at least 10 years ( purchased used) and would not part with it.

UPDATE

Postby ststephen » 11 Feb 2006 13:12

Well, after careful thought and consideration, I did go ahead and buy this machine. It looks like I may have a good size job masterkeying an apartment complex, so, this seemed like it may pay for itself sooner rather than later.

Thanks for all the input!

VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PURCHASE :D 8)
