Which pick gun (snap gun) do you prefer?

Postby Sennheiser » 3 Feb 2006 18:52

Hello!

Excuse my bad English.

I'm new to this forum. I don't find any thread about this subject, although it should be a pretty common question. If there's any thread about this subject, please let me know.

However. My question: Which pick gun do you prefer, and why?

I have plans of ordering an pickgun from Lockpicks.com, but I don't know if I should order the Lock Aid or the Brockhage pickgun. (The Brockhage is currently out of stock if you wonder why it's not listed on their website, but it will be back in about 7-14 days).

Which one do you recommend? And why?
And what's the difference between them?

Sennheiser,
As far as I can tell, the Brockhage is a knockoff of the Lock-Aid.

By the way, nice username. Are you referring to the headphones or microphones?

Ooh! That's a fast reply  :D

I'm sorry to ask you this silly question, but my English is pretty bad. But hehe.. What do you mean with "knockoff"? Do you mean that the Brockhage is much better or much worse than the Lock-Aid?

And do you have experience with both the pick guns? (Have you tried them both?).

OT: My username refeers to the headphones, I really love them. :)

Senn,
A knockoff means that the Brockhage is a copy of the Lock-Aid. I don't know which is better, as I've not used the Brockhage. I believe that Lock-Aid has an excellent warranty, though.

Regarding the headphones, that's awesome. I used to be into them extensively, and I still have my Senn HD600 and HE90 "Orpheus" headphones. (You might be interested in http://www.head-fi.org/ )

Have you tried them both? (Lock-Aid and Brockhage).

What's the differences between them? What makes one of them better than the other, and so on?

I believe the Lockaid is made by Majestic.

I haven't tried them both, Senn, though most people seem to agree unequivocally the Lockaid is the top end. It's just a very well-made and effective tool if you like snap guns. Not the cheapest but not that much more expensive either.

It's almost the same price as Brockhage (at Lockpicks.com), but it differs $2 last time I checked (before they run out of Brockhage pickguns).

But so, it seems like Lock-Aid's the best one, so I think I'll place an order on that one.

Thanks everybody.

:D :) :D :) :D

B.t.w. Lockpicks.com claims the Lock-Aid pickgun to have "limited lifetime warranty", while the Brockage pickgun has "lifetime warranty".

What do they mean exactly? Doesn't Lock-Aid have as good warranty as Brockhage, or what do they mean?

Lifetime warranty is bound to be the same as the limited lifetime warranty.

Ok, nice :)

However, it seems most people think that the Lock-Aid is better - or as good as - the Brockhage, and almost nobody have tried them both. :?

I think I'll buy the Lock-Aid. It can't be too much difference between them ;)
