Just something for the cutaways makers among us... anyone have any thoughts about what exactly, in a practical sense, you think can and can't be modified on a lock without significantly altering how it picks?
The goal of the cutaways, after all, is usually to reveal the behavior of the lock while picking; so if you manufacture it in such a way that it reacts differently to your input, that's not much good.
I always thought that as long as the pins were still free to move, there was no problem, but I'm not sure now; both of my cutaways definitely act a little goofy, and one of them actually has a pin that often inexplicably jams now.
