Do you know what keyway this is?

I have been trying to pick this lock now for a couple of days. I am pretty sure that it has security pins in it, i can feel the pins set wrong or something. Anyway i just lubed it up because it had been sitting around for quite some time. So i will try again to pick it again tomorrow after the lube soaks in but in the mean time does anybody know what keyway this is? i looked through the key directory at the sections where i thought it would be but had no luck. If you know please enlighten me.

You know, that's funny you say that because the FIRST thing that popped into my head was "BEST keyway"...but I didn't know which one.

My best guess is a Sargent in the "H" series.

Its not a BEST SFIC. The lock body looks as though it could be Schlage. I suggest that the keyway may be Schlage SC1456, SC1467 or some Schlage custom keyway.

That appears to be a chart of IC keyways available on Master Lock products. We don't even know if this is a Master. (Actually, it doesn't look like one at all; there's usually a stamp on the bottom.)

it is a American lock and it just uses any kik cylinder with the right tailpiece, I actually have that masterlock picture and i know it is none of them. i also have a almont lock with the same keyway as this so i was looking at almont and they only offer keyways in Schlage c-k, Yale and Sargent. so i suspect that it is one of those but now sure which one yet, i cannot find the same keyway in any pictures or documents i have.

here are three more pics, i am not sure if this would tell you anything but maybe. I have never seen a schlage with that style back end so i am thinking it's not schlage.

this is a lock produced by American padlocks.

This lock accepts ANY KIK (key in knob) cylinder made be ILCO that accepts the cam made by American.

As fas a key goes, firt thought was ILCO A1054MR (Lockwood / Chantrelle).

But i believe i am wrong. It also appears to be an ASSA V-10 keyway or something of that nature.

I will do some research at work tomorrow for ya!!

Ya i know everything about the padlock and kik stuff but i have never seen this keyway before and i cant find it anywhere. And while we are on this subject does anybody know a website that sells tailpieces for padlock kik's? (any padlocks not just these ones. Thanks a bunch for helping me out on this.

website, no.

the only manufactures of KIK padlocks i know of are american, master, and some cheap import from back in the day. the problem is cams on the ends of cylinders, and ilco are really the only ones (other than GMS) that makes reputable replacement cylinders.

im doing my homework on this one, i promise. i want to know this keyway!
i know my keyways, being in the biz for 9 years. i hope i do...

Ok I did some major research and came up with this keyway. The list number is SCH35-101-1467, which now that i look at it Chucklz suggested. Take a look at the picture and let me know if you think this is the key. If it is your good Chucklz.



Sorry the picture is so big I just wanted the little keyway in the corner to be big enough for everyone to see.
