It was 100. Genius, huh? Well, we had some fun with it by changing the combo. just turn it backwards, push in, and change it to your desired number.

PS do any of you know how to open the older master locks that have a key on the back? I bought one since I couldn't crack it.

You shouldn't be messing with other peoples locks, unless you have their permision!

Hope this is vaguely interesting/useful to someone :P

its been my experience that the cheaper the lock the easier it is to pick.

Pretty cool.
I have a similiar lock in my collection. Although it has no gaps. It's a cheap brass lock available at most hardware stores.

I also use the feel method.
I start on the first disc, and click and pull the shackle until I feel the shackle move a little more than all the others. That's the fist number.

And from there it's really simple.

Then you just start spinning the third disc. One full revolution. Then if it doesn't open, turn the second disc to the next number, and spin the third disc again in the same manner.

You'll know when you have the correct second disc when you spin the third disc, and the lock pops open.

It's very easy, and very quick.
There's no replacement for displacement.
