okay, i'll try to get some pictures, i'm telling you though it's not serrated, spooled or mushroomed. it's just a smooth bevel near the end, but at a sharper angle than one would expect if the purpose of the bevel were to help push the pin into place if the key was worn out

Its possably a dud pin that got too much machined off in the factory but somehow got through quality control.

No chump is what i meant and illusion knows that

okay, here's a picture.

shrub: i'm thinking not a dud pin because all 5 in the lock were pretty much the same.

the three on the left are just normal pins (bevelled to varying degrees) for reference, the one on the right is the pin in question, you can see that the bevel angle is far shallower, to the point where it really doesn't seem like it would help push the pin above the shear line.

so what's the verdict?

The very left pin looks like a Standard driver pin, and the very right pin looks like a bottom pin. What do you guys think?

it's not a bottom pin, i pulled it from the top of a lock along with 4 other drivers that were the same.

those are all driver pins, i just thought i'd post a few designs for reference.

Linty, i dont know then sorry, im only guessing a rouge pin as it seems like its been machined a bit roughly which may mean its been round the chamfering tool twice or somthing.

I cant see it hindering picking but rather help the process by making the pin move with tension after youve picked it to the chamfer.
