Announcing the first Portugal chapter of LSI!!

Postby digital_blue » 27 Feb 2006 15:34

Hello folks!

I am quite pleased to announce LSI's first Portugal chapter. Head up by LP101's own CPLP, the official chapter name is:

Portugal Locksport International / Vila Nova de Famalicão PLSI/VNF

I have been discussing this with Sergio (CPLP) for some time now and I'm very excited that we have pulled it together. Sergio is an excited locksport enthusiast, and has done much work to get this chapter up and running.

So don't be shy. Let's all welcome Sergio and his group!

This is great!! LSI is really starting to span out which is really the scope of LSI, organize groups around the world. Way to go Sergio. 8)
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Now if only LSI could convince TOOOL to join in......
That'd be spectacular.
Anyway, congrats Sergio. :D

Only have 5 so far, but have been asked by some people I never met that want to join in, just want to stabilize my chapter before I allow other persons that I never met to join in. I'm very drilled and happy that it had come true, just waiting for the first meeting 8)

I'm thinking of filming all the meetings (after all, I just put them on dvd and it comes cheap). And I think would be good for newbies to the group to watch some of the videos. Pictures I really have to cause I want to post pictures of that.

Shocking discovery...

Postby CPLP » 28 Feb 2006 11:33

I was trying to find a translation for Lock Picking without using too many words and I found out this in the dictionary:

to Pick a lock:
abrir uma fechadura com chave falsa, gazua, arame, etc., com o objectivo de roubar;

com o objectivo de roubar - With the intention of stealing

That's outrageous, I'll have to send a letter to Porto Editora (Portuguese dictionary publisher) to change that on hte next edition because that's so not right. I was shocked. People who actually read that will think that locksport is for thiefs.
