My snap gun is made by Majestic, didn't rate against my electric pick gun (HPC electropick). Save your money buy that instead
sledgehammers make excellent back up picks!

too expensve. Cost me crap-loads. Check my location. There like 200 odd Us, plus shipping and in AUS dolloars. Dont think so. A Pick gun is about $80 AUS so, I think thats enough.

I love me Brochage pickgun, great tool, works like a charm, hand picking is better though, but for speed pickgun is my first option even though i hand pick the lock first and usually pop it within 4 - 5 mins.

Ive never tried different types of pick guns so I wouldnt know but my E-Z pick gun i got from my brother works pretty well. Heard somewhere in this site that E-Z is a crappy gun that breaks easily though.

All Pick guns are NOT created equally! I have a half dozen pick guns and I like only 2. Do they all work....yes... to some extent. My two favorites are the Life by LockAid. But you can tell a difference between the two Lockaid guns.
If you want to purchase a pick gun, GO to where they are, and try them out before you buy one. Each gun will perform differently, and feel just slightly unique. If you purchase your gun over the internet it will be a crapshoot as to weather you get the gun that fits YOU.
All Life Lockaid pick guns are not exactly the same as each other.
I have only owned 1 electronic pick gun, it was an HPC electronic pick gun. I hated it so much, I literally tossed it into the trash................$99 down the drain.

The pickgun I have is by Southern, it's mechanical not electric. The main thing to keep in mind when using a pickgun, is not to get carried away and let the tool do the work, don't force it.

I have both Lock Aid and an E-Z pick gun. The E-Z was the first one I bought when I first started working as a locksmith that was 1978 and it still works just fine.... go figure...The trick is not to leave the tension knob turned up, when your done release it all the way back to lowest spring tension. I guess I could just have a magic one since it still works like new 35 years later!!! I expected it to break in weeks of the purchase. The Lock Aid one is 15 years old and has been returned twice for service! I prefer the Lock Aid one as it is top of the line and feels better yet breaks. Richard

I'm glad to see we can resurrect a 9-year-old thread to discuss something that isn't of much use to hobbyists in the first place.

I have an Ilco snap gun and I thing these things are a waste of time. Sure they work but its also a skill like SPP and Raking. Personally I hate the thing but the other locksmiths in my shop use them as a go to.
