Oohhhhhhhh yeah.
Dang it... there's another $1000 "down the drain" at some point...
To the casual hobbyist, the program is not at all worth it. It would be completely stupid to purchase unless you are an actively trading locksmith.
I understand that... I am just looking towards the "future." Perhaps a "dream," but a guy is allowed to dream right?
In Soviet Russia, future dreams you!
Whatever happened to that thread full of quoted quotes?
Good thing it got forgoten. It was just stupid...

"...quoted quotes..."
That's cool!

i have used other programmes but instacode is by far the best as is promaster the masterkey software. Have meet the guy who made instacode along with another guy who contrbuted heaps to it. Both very nice and easily approachable guys - this programme has saved me heaps of time and money and although made in new zealand would be applicible to many other countries out side the pacfic.

i recon! The amount of times people have come in with worn keys - silca and instacode helps heaps!
The advantage of silca is that you can decode the cuts on a key and the computer displays a picture of it to check it out to. Works really good with toyota keys (4 depths, 8-10 cuts)
btw - "In Soviet Russia, future dreams you!" bwahahaha!
EDIT:
Chrispy wrote:We too, use Instacode. And, coincidentally, a Silca key conversion program. We also have a couple of decades worth of key blank conversion books as well. What locksmiths do you work at?

We used to use the treskat stuff....if you never heard, that guy is a big jerk. Last straw, we could not get updates to load, call him to be berated on how we don't know anything about computers and should not be near them, and then he billed us for tech support, after he did not help.
He has that reputation, and I have seen so many letters written to locksmith magazines about him.
We went with Blackhawk, basic program, fill the combination software is sold separate. It has everything you could want, code info can be displayed for any machine you can think of. Framon, a-1, curtis, hpc, ITL...etc.
forget the price...about 600, 100 for the fill software....became necessity for sidewinders.
Here is the nice thing, install everywhere you want....As I recall, it was advertised that way too!

Instacode wont teach you anything, its a key software, if you cant pick locks it wont help you to do so it doesnt show the workings of locks etc either. This site is the best you will find.
contolphreak, we dont apprechiate that sort of suggestion on here, thanks.

This is ridiculous. Thread locked.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Indeed. I've trimmed out the posts of people asking for pirated software. Ain't gonna happen.
