Hey new here and need sum help!!

Postby brandonb5269 » 14 Mar 2006 15:38

Hey guys im new here turning 17. I prity recently got into lockpicking. I found this site and I love it. Its very informative and helpfull! Ive managed to pick almsot every lock I can find at my house, and alot of master locks that i have went out and bought. But i have one pad lock that i cant cant get the pins to set. It has HAMPTON stamped on the front of it, it looks like it can be re-cored. any information or any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx in advance
Brandon

Calm down ! (and a few more full stops please!)

First off, a picture would help a lot. It also saves writting such a huge block of text. Your obviously enthusiastic though, which is a good start.

More picks are not always the answer, I only use 3 or 4 different hooks now. Generally, a larger variety of wrenches are helpful however.

Please fill in a bit more of your profile, mainly your location, as this means we can be more specific when helping.

I'm sure some of the others will have other nuggets of info, but hey, this is a start.

It's all about the tension . . .

Have a look around for Digital Blues single pin picking guide, you need to visulise the lock and take your time, it maybe youve met with security pins and you should have a search for those along with spool and mushroom pins.

Yes spools can be a real pain in the...... Well anyway if you do encounter a spool it usally makes the plug turn alot when in flase set, Plug it turns a bit just when applying tension and when you push the pin you think is the spool and it makes the plug turn anti clockwise a tiny bit and then stops but not stops as in resets all the pins, then youve set the false set.

Im about to do a search on all the different pins to confirm what type of pins they are.

And be sure that you check your spelling in your threads. Chat room lingo is against the rules here so please try to not use it.

It is an american 700 series knock off possibly on the am4 keyway. The lock likely has spool or mushroom pins along with possibly serrated pins if it folllows American Lock's protocol. Not a good lock for a beginner to start out with.

Hi Brandonb5269

i know this is nothing to do with topic but you said you was from michigan.
its just the way you say again (agen) it sounds like a English (yorkshire, notts, derbyshire) slang for saying again.

i might be wrong  but had to ask :?

I just wondered because it looked like English slang and you said you was from Michigan that's all. you didn't have to edit the word from 2 of your posts we all make spelling mistakes especially me. :)

sorry for going off topic.
