Paperclip Lock pick Guide! by Sams Choice

When it comes down to it there is nothing better than manual tools for your Lock pick Set, whether they be retail, homebrew, macgyver style. DIY'ers look here.

Sorry guys. I cant post a video of picking an automobile with paperclips. It is an advanced topic. And for good reason too. But the thing of the matter is, it can be done, and that is all the really counts right?

Sams Choice why not make your tools out of music wire it is available from hobby stores and would be stronger. The wire is made in diameters from .008 - .125 . I use it to make picks, tension wrenches. car opening tools and a variety of safe tools. The material holds its shape very well and is cheap

because you cant find piano wire as easily as a paperclip. paperclips are lot more common. IF you go to an office you cant go into the drawer and get piano wire. Unless its somekind of music shop.

Wow... I showed up to this discussion a bit late, but I gotta say... I think this is a wonderful little tutorial IF taken in the right context. So here it is nice an clear:

This is a crappy way for beginners to learn to pick locks!

But for those who have already developed the basic skills of lockpicking, I think this is a very well-put-together tutorial and it makes for a lot of fun. I mean, there is a coolness factor that comes from picking locks with whatever is at hand, and paper clips, safety pins, etc, are always pretty easy to come by.

So good work sams choice! I enjoyed it!

If the OP wouldn't mind me making one little "not for newbies" addition to the subject and first post, I wouldn't mind adding it as a sticky on the site 'cause I think it's a fun little project for those that are ready to play with it.

Hhahaha, 99 cents and 100 available, this easy guide will get you picking in no time. Free shiping, Seller will immediatly email to your email address for fast shipping!!! this guide is complete! no need for expensive tools!! hahah i hate those kind of "information" bids on ebay. They are always a let down.

But on another note, this is no way for beginers. First off a complete understanding of the lock is needed. Not the specific lock in general but the lock you are trying to pick. Know how many pins all that stuff. Its like when you let someone use your tools to try to pick a lock that you know they cant do because they dont know enough about how a lock works and you just end up telling them over and over "just move yoru hand up and down, up and down, not left to right! too hard, it should open gently! ahhh my tool!". Then they hand you back this bent hook. Its like that. Knowledge first, then rewards come later.
