Lock ID

Can anyone id me this lock please, its from a coin box off a washing machine.

Image

It seems to be a laser track lock or worm lock and is quite difficult to pick at first try.

I dont have the key for it to show im afraid.

The manufacture's name, the locks name or number or both would be good also a supplier would be nice and a UK one even better.

Thanks.

I can tell you that it is a double-sided wafer lock, but I'm afraid that's all.

Yes it is,
Ive seen the keyway before in a catalogue but just cant find it again, it seems an even spread of wafers top and bottom but they are not alternate like most double wafers, they are grouped as in 2 wafers one way then 1 the other then 1 the other way again the 3 the other way, theres no symitry to it.

Almost any vending supplier will have one of these locks. They are usually found on gumball machines here in the US.

Ive tried my local vending suppliers and they dont have the same lock and couldnt help identify it.

I need the exact same locks, if its a US lock im pretty much badgered.

Well i need 25 brand new ones and they need to be keyed alike and the exact same lock but thanks for your offer,

The radial key type is a tubular lock and as well as being able to get them readily from my supplier i also have loads in stock, but they wont do.

Thanks anyway

Shrub, I think the lock you have matches the one in my collection. If so, it would be a DUO wafer lock, which is a very, very, very difficult pick. I'll see if I can verify the keyway once I get home again.

That would be great, i must admit im having little luck picking it and shimming it is not getting all the wafers but most and i still cant get it

A pic of the key would be a great help if its the same,

Cheers.

Appears to be a DUO split wafer lock. It is made by the Illinois lock company

That's what I'm guessing. The one I have has 14 wafers and is used mostly by spam. I suppose coinboxes aren't too far off from that.

The key is the most screwed up looking wafer lock key I have seen, for sure. You are going to have a hard time picking this one with normal tools. Perhaps I can post a picture of the key so you can make some tools for it.

Although maybe simular i cant quite make out the same keyway o that site but im a step closer thanks,
A pic of the key and your keyway would go down a treat

Im of course after this info for 2 reasons, 1 i need to supply my customer with his exact requirements as he wont accept anything else and 2 ive got this used one and i am struggleing picking it and cant strip it down to see what makes it tick.

Therre are many of these locks on washing machines in my part of the US. They are a tough pick because they use a split wafer design. Some of the wafers are in two pieces, and milling on the side of the key raises the other half. I am almost certain that is what I am seeing down the keyway. Here is one lock on ebay,

Ill treat you all to a parts pic when ive finally got it apart but picking tips i will post in the advanced section i think
