Im new to lockpicking but have read some tutorials and i think im up to picking a cylinder lock, but i have no tools, and im deciding between a 14 piece set £20 and a Jackknife £35. I really want a Jackknife as its a cool gadget and many people have had successes it with it, but people have had complaints about the screw. Plz post your experiences on it.

If you did a search on this site for "Jackknife" you would have answered your question.
I do not think the "screw" is the biggest issue it is feedback. I would buy both sets if you are easily amused by gagets.
Consider me inactive or lurker.

If you decide to get the jacknife I'd go with the SouthOrd aluminum model. It's so pretty and shiny!!
Hey marso...it doesn't take much to amuse me I need to get me one of those!

See I probably shoulda sprung for one of those because it is just easy and convinent(sp) but I wanted to train myself the right way and feel the lock, so I got individual picks, with the help of some people I met here! Thanks guys.

I had an HPC Jackknife set, I gave it away because I just refused to deal with it anylonger.

I would probably get a Southord Slimline set, I beleive the C1510 would be about all I would buy. It has plenty of tension tools to begin with, and a good selection of rakes/hooks. The C801 would probably be your best buy. It really covers all the bases as far as picks are concerned, at least as you are beginning.

I didn't say you couldn't have one, go ahead and get one if you want. But, just to let you know, learning on it will probably be a bit more difficult than on regular picks, but its certainly possible, go for it if you have the patience.
