Pick particular lock by all types of picks.Is that possible?

Is that possible to pick a particular lock by all type of picks ?

I pick my front door lock by a Short Hook in 1 min, Jag Snake in about 10 sec, and Pick Gun in only 1 sec (faster than using key ).

But I can't pick it by using Diamond, Snake Rake and any others.

I know Diamond and Snake Rake are the two most recommend by those professional. But I just can't successfully manipulate them.

Also, I can't feel the force that come from the spring by not using Hook. I don't know how to rake, so I must feel that force.

Keep practicing and play with the tension (torque). Sounds like you have the idea though.

Yes, it's certainly possible, at least with the basic, standard picks. Some of the more radical rakes probably wouldn't work, or even fit in the lock.

I'm not sure where you got the idea that diamonds and rakes are the most popular styles? I'd put hooks above both of them, myself.

There is no need to be able to pick every lock with every pick. There are rake profiles that will have a very hard time openening locks with a specific bitting pattern. I would concentrate on single pin picking with hooks at first.

I agree with CitySpider. I have used every single pick in all 6 of my lockpick sets and I can honestly say that the hook is my favorite. Snakes work fine if you need to get behind a Kwikset or Falcoln, but you'll be there all day trying to rake a Schlage. I have a set from Majestic, several from SouthOrd, and several from HPC. The Majestic was the first set I ever had and the hook that came with it is still the first one I use when picking. I've even ordered the hook and a couple snakes from HPC because they are exactly like my Majestic ones. Once you actually learn to pick a lock, raking becomes, for lack of a better word, boring. The only time I use a rake is when I encounter a new lock. I give it a try to see how quick it will "pop". If it doesn't "pop" after a few strokes, into the case it goes and out comes the hook. Just my 2 cents.
