hey guys,

I made my owne lock picks the other day, I made a hook, a snake and a half dimond.I also made 2 tension wrenches a feather weight and a regular tesion wrench. What other usefull picks, or tension wrench's i would need to make to complete my set? :)

to be honest, I rarely use anything else but my hook, and if I could only carry one pick, that would be it. The half diamond and a rake are good selections as well - as far as other picks go - just have fun. If something looks interesting to you try and make it - even if you find it to be useless in your picking, at least it will look cool in your collection... :)

have you picked any locks yet ?
i would say when you can pick 3 different locks
with each pick then maybe think about expanding your pick set

if you are planning on using homemade picks
for all your future lockpicking
take your time making each pick
master what you have available now
if you haven't picked anything yet
it's a bit premature to think
about expanding your pick selection
i'm sure there are many stories here
about buying a 25 pc set and only regularly using 2-3 picks

quality - not quantity

yes i have done several locks.

well each pick took me 45 minutes each and then i made a wooden handle for each pick so.. it took about 1 hour for each pick. and im a pretty handy guy, i guess you could say i spent my time on my picks

If anything you could start making picks for other types of locks that you have access to.

I believe half balls and half snowmen can be used on wafers...right?
