tubular lock picked with a Bic pen...heard about this yet?

some kryptonite U locks for bicycles have the lock inside the end of the tube, this is always a 137 (also known as a 136) in the common diameter, and not compatible with the bic biro pen barrel, but the type of kryptonite lock with the lock in the tube sideways is the 137s ( s for small diameter) and this fits the bic biro. This worked the first time I tried it in about 90 seconds, the next five or six times I tried it, no joy. I have quit trying. I believe that it works best on hot summer days and will not work in winter. The plasticity of the pen barrel is subject to heat, and becomes harder and more brittle in low temps.

apparently you can pick some types of tubular/ace/cylindrical locks with nothing but the case from a plain ol' Bic pen

I have a club bicycle lock that has a tubular lock and an old ace lock for a coke machine I used to have. My bic pens wouldn't fit the the hole but I warmed them up just a bit and I was able to use them. The ace lock has pretty even "code" it opened pretty easy but the pins would reset sometimes in the middle of turning it. The Club lock has some real high low pins and it took a LOT of wiggling to get it to open. I also noticed that the pen only works a few times before the plastic wears out. A friend who owns a pepsi machine in front of his store let me try the pen method on his ACE II I think it was. Maybe someone could do it but I couldn't really even push all the pins with the plastic tube.

Ever since Bramah invented the axial lock people have been picking them with pencils and soft tubes and the like. Have a look at Eras' book on locks and keys througout the ages. I think there's a picture in there of household implements that can be used to pick locks, the pencil is among them

i saw the video, i cant really see how its possible
