escaping handcuffs

Postby Pic-king » 23 Apr 2006 15:39

Seing as i used to do escapology, i thaught i'd write about how you can escape handcuffs... did you know you can open swing through cuffs or darby style cuffs without a key, pick or shim...you can do it floating in a vacumm with no clothes on lol

picking:-

to pick swing through cuffs, just make a straight bit of wire, and put a bend in it so that the part you bend is the distance from the cxentre of the post to the edge of the keyhole... just put in and twist like a normal key (this is easier than using a key if done properly...just because its easier to put a pick in - the key is made to fit perfectly...) LOL :D

to pick darby style cuffs, wrap a pen in cloth, so it is really thick... jam it in the keyhole, and twist as you pull it up and out. (David 'modern Houdini' Deval said in his book that this was picking, so don't harass me for saying this :P)

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

escaping without tools:-

swing through cuffs are quite hard to do without tools... theres an easy method though... (if light bulbs and radiators don't count as tools) where you use the thick wire in a light bulb as a pick, or put the flat end of a radiator, screwdriver or something in the part on the top of your wrist (in between it - 2 sides to the cuff... you are putting it down the side of your wrist) and then twist. the front and back of the cuffs seperate like magic... rip the springs etc out, and stretch out the springs... definately need to buy new cuffs now :P

darby cuffs are near impossible to do without tools... Use the method i love which works with any cuff on earth!

as i said up the top, a key is made to fit perfectly... when you are out the way of people, tighten the handcuffs slightly, and keep them still on your arms... eventually, after about 5 minutes, you have red marks on your wrists...move the cuffs down your arms slightly, so that when someone looks, there are marks... ask the captor to loosen them a little... as you hear the click, whip your hands away fast, and do some damage to them! (forget the key - it fits perfectly, and won't fly out randomly...) knock them out cold, and take off the cuffs! if you need to run and can't get the key out while running, lock the cuff onto the other arm so that one arm has 2 cuffs on... comes in handy when you want to hit someone :P

this method seems so much like the movies, but the police have to loosen them... they have a spare key hidden on them incase it is done up tight... its the only reason they will get the key out... plan the escape first!

finally, don't mock me for any of this... i spent £6 on a book with that information in it, so erm...

suppose they could.. i figured it would hurt doing it with them ones... with a swing through, you hit a thin bit of metal curved around your arm, but on a darby, you hit the cross bar thingy lol

i always prefer to tighten them a little while being quiet.. as the key goes in, attack them! lol you can normally take their clothes, put one of their socks in their mouth, tie it in with the other one... cuff them to the jail and take the uniform.. sorted :P (thats the good thing with being taken by iraqis... they don't show their faces :P

oh...take their hand off... may need to pass a few scanners...:P

Surely you mean Zero Gravity? Try it in a vacuum, wouldn't you asphyxiate rather quickly?

Assuming you do mean Zero G, where do you keep your wire/pen/lightbulb if you don't have any clothes on?

:)

Surely if someone was trying to put cuffs on you in outer space you could just float away?

I have a pair that I've tried making make-shift keys for. The make-shift keys always end up looking just like the original.

I've tried using straight bits of wire, but the wire is just not stout enough to move the lock. Also, I have trouble manipulating the wire to where it can pivot on the post to try and get some kind of leverage.
There's no replacement for displacement.

handcuffs

Postby scampdog » 8 May 2006 18:51

Hey you guys.i have actually had the misfortune(liar),of removing the above mentioned shackles, from two very embarrased young people, who dropped the key down behind the cooker(she was a big girl). anyway i charged them £20 and i get to keep the cuffs, they agreed, and they are now proudly hanging on my workshop wall.
there's no such thing as gravity. The earth SUCKS!!
