Security Pin Lock Guide.

Postby CVScam » 28 Apr 2006 22:14

I thinking of someway to make a guide for members to look up a lock and see if it has security pins. For example I am guessing that almost any Best brand cylinder has security pins and almost any Medeco has security pins. I own a U.S. Lock brand cylinder that "feels" like it has security pins but I am not sure. I have never seen a Kwick set or EZ set that has security pins. I know I can't cover every lock but it seems like a lot of questions are about Master, Adus, Brinks, Padlocks and Kwickset, Schlage, Medeco cylinders. I would have for example Master Padlock #3 4 pin no security pins. Master Padlock 6270 6 pin with spools.

Actually I believe most BEST padlock comes with no security pins standard, but are optional. This should be true for at least the SFICs. Their logic, I guess, being that the tolerances are so high for picking as well as the double shear line makes it crazy hard to pick anyways.

Can anyone confirm this?
