Lockpick Site Privacy

Hello,
this is my first post and I would liek to get into the art of lockpicking. I was wondering about the privacy of companies such as lockpickshop.com ...mostly just how they send their picks. are we tlaking a plain brown box, or a novelty lock shaped box with pick written all over it? thanks!

Its just a normal brown box, of course they don't send it as AUTOMOTIVE CAR LOCKPICKING SET on the front, so don't worry about that.

I believe lockpicks.com uses Brockhage on their return address. I'm not sure, though.

If it is something smaller it will not come in a box, but in a padded manila envelope. I base this on my experience with lockpicks.com and southord.com; they've proven themselves to be discreet. Think about it this way-- it is in their best interest to be discreet to retain customers and encourage repeat purchases.

I received an international delivery from www.lockpickshop.com (the company with the "lp101" discount code),
in an envelope, marked for customs as "stainless tools", return address looked like a private sender (a small sticker with the name & address of a person).

Very nice, no problems at all with customs or nosy letter carriers.

I got a set from locksmith-tool.co.uk and the return address was the company they used to take the payment from me, not their own company name.

It came in a small padded envelope with no mention of what was inside it.

TBH it's probably in their interest NOT to put anything on it.

As "lockedin" pointed out, it is indeed in these shippers' best interest to be discreet...not only for the reasons he mentioned, but also because packages tend to be stolen in transist when they look like the contents are particularly interesting. I used to be a major collector of railroad locks and keys, and one of my main suppliers got a lot of complaints about lost packages when he used the name "Antiques and Artifacts" in his return address. Back when I worked for Best Lock Corp. and talked regularly to Rick Case, the Loss Prevention Manager at UPS, he said that they were constantly dealing with shippers about this, particularly gun dealers, because an extremely high percentage of guns disappeared from UPS shipments.
