Bad Debtor

A short request for info on any company that's giving work to David Webster of Larkhall, Lanarkshire, Scotland. The afore-mentioned owes me just short of £5000 for services rendered and is under the impression that he is not paying it back. He also owes many other fellow locksmiths.

Everything is above board, I just need info on who is sub contracting him so that I can inform them of his morals. I will then approach these companies and offer my services at a reduced rate. I think within about four months I will have earned my money back and send him under.

I will also offer my services to train anyone with a police disclosure in his home town to be a locksmith free of charge ( nothing like a bit of competition).

Feel free to inform him I am onto him.

When you catch this guy you can feed him into one of those industrial chipper shredders until it jams. It will jam eventually though before the job is complete so be ready to deal with that :? . If you start feet first I bet he comes up with the money pretty quick.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

Can you go to the claims court? a solicitor should tell you if this is an option for free.

The very man. He was binned due to financial iregularities and the list of people he owes money to gets bigger every day. I'm busy getting all information on him that I can especially people that have done cash in hand jobs as some contacts in the Inland Revenue with give them freedom from prosecution. Also customers that never received a receipt will come in handy.

I think he is trading under Advanced Locksmiths   He also does reposession work.

I gave him every chance to repay me and he doesn't even call me with reasons why I have not been paid. He is now going to find out what the repercussions of messing me about are. The money is now irrelevent.

Everything will be legal and infact In have actuallly went out my way to ensure some of my previous workmates do not use him as a training aid.

At £5k its worth pursuing the debt. The problem is with debts of low amounts (e.g. <£100). I've had a couple this year, £55 and £75, and no amount of threatening letters has convinced them to cough up. To pursue them through the small claims is going to cost me, and I doubt a debt recovery agent is going to be too interested in such low amounts. Probably cheaper to write the debts off.

Good luck Davy - keep us informed.

Id say any debt is worth pursueing . Ive been at some company for a debt of £900 for ages i just wouldnt leave it and finally got paid 10mths after doing the job. Would i have stuck at it had it been £75? I dont know. I just hate it when the custommer wants you on site wthin 10mins and thaen take 6mths to pay you 50 quid.
Its not just one off custommers either,i know a vry good lockie whos giving up the trade because one of his regular guys wont pay him on time. This and the the fact hes finding it hard to get work when any old doughnut whos done a week course is taking his work
This guy can pick a 110 with the cb pick by the way .

i know the guy, and ive told him if he quits, il lock him up with buba in the showers.
hes one of the best guys in his area, but owed 6 figures now 6 months late, the irony here is that the guy who owes him has just bought a new house and nice new car!

i know 1 other lockie also taking this guy to court at present. id chip in with him and get a winding up order up and running against this guy, nice to flaunt around in swank new motor and screw good guys in process.

In the US, just about anyone can put a lean on anybody else. Then when he goes to sell his house or car or apply for a loan, he'll remember to pay you. Not sure if similar avenues exist in Scotland.

David Webster? I read that name 5 times now, and it clicked. I'd seen this name just 12 hours ago...

Well i have done construction work with dead beat payers. Some guy he built a brand new house somehow got around paying him, well to be hones tit jsut a waitng game for my boss now, beause once his payments are complete on the house my unlce has the right to evict him the second it turns 12pm on that date i garrentee my boss will thrown him out.. if it were my bosses descision it would be by the claws of his hammer.. but ehh we can't have everything. Anyway from what i understand the house has gained value as real estate is sky rocketing like everywhere else and not my unlce has a good 70 grand in profit from what he charged durgint he inicial build. Ofcourse this certain senerio with lawyer fees and loss of money ont he job lead himt almost bankrupcy and he had to start of worse then when he started his buisness, These people make me sick, but dont give up on your job becuase of some idiot, thieves and crooks that try to take your money always get caught dont give up gain all the info and procecute just for your own pride and pleasure. Then do as stated and boycott him and down him till no end as he deserves it what an arse good luck buddy.

I am lucky in that I have a good pension from the Armed Forces so I will never go under. In fact after I have dragged him through the courts and Inland Revenue I shall be tailing him daily and when he gets to a job, offer to do it for free. I've got about £50,000 behind me an will gladly spend it sending him back to a council house.

The Locksmith world does not need a waster like him.
