Hey guys,

sorry for my long absence, my adhd kicked in as always, so you'll notice a surge in posts again. hehe.

Anyway, yeah I've finally seen myself on film for once even though I' do stage acting gig's every so often, it's just ..... eerie.

Besides that, and my voice just thrashed, question posted earlier about the Mul-T-Lock change.

illusion wrote:There are two things I thought let it down: Deviant Ollam failed to say that the Michaud attack has now been PREVENTED by modified top pins which stop such an attack.

It's actually the bottom pins, but no fret, what they do is make a solid bottom pin with different levels as would a regular MTL pin setup, if it worked normally so all it looks like is a pin with the inner part dimpled, at different heights.

The lowdown is that I found out after I was told, the setup was changed for most of the locks, turns out nothing really changed after I talked to a few reps from the company, it was originally and only for the Master Keyed system of MTL, and hasn't been deployed at all in the non masterkeyed systems, as I was told by their reps at a lock smith class and expo event.

Though you did say PREVENTED, no worries about that I found actually away around it that is so trivial you'll laugh yourself silly as you would when you did your first one pin pick that you actually got. And it actually isn't an "AROUND" per se you just add one or two steps to the procedure of bypassing it before.

I wish there was a edit button, but alas there isn't I didn't get to finish the post.

So here it goes,

procedure of bypassing it before you continue with the whole bypass.

Other than all of the above, I had a great time at shmoo and can't wait for HOPE and Defcon which I'll be at both with some really neat surprises, and new tools.

And hopefully my voice will be intact, you know the New York smoking ban, maybe I'll be able to see in the room unlike Fur the club where I left my voice for 48 hours. heh.

Anyway guys can't wait to hear back from you all.

Ah, well deviant's slides are done in HTML for multi-platform support. I'll find out if he's got a PDF or tarball or something.

Great video!

Is there a list somewhere of cons like this? And sport picking groups? I've been browsing the fourms for a month and don't recall seein' any information about that kind of thing.

Also, high good videos like this? I googled in their vides for lockpicking and found quite a few, but most of them were of people picking a lock, not really explaining what they where doing.

Thanks,

Well,

Ye ask and Ye shall recieve.

I've been to a few of the majors, in essence of the who's who of non locksmith approved lockpicking competitions, there are a few that I know of, and there are probably a few more that I missed. But Here we go.

The ones that I count as the majors of what you should attend, for earning points in the European circuit are these.

The Dutch Open - TOOOL - Netherlands

And

The Deutsche(German) Open - SSDeV - Germany

Though both of these are more often than not to compete (Invite only).
But they do have year round competitions, but I do recommend e-mail Barry of TOOOL
and Steffen of SSDeV.

They do as best to my knowledge but it changes a bit year to year, how the scoring system goes, originally was in the chess system but I think it's a bit different now.

http://lockpicking.org/SSDeV/start.php

On that page it's in German of course but on the bottom you'll see the different clubs that have info up.

TOOOL-USA - The club I co-run in the US, has the domain but no site up, but don't worry that's going to change soon.(count on it)

Now for the US, mostly they take place at Defcon, called LPCon, during the events.

It looks like a great possibility that there will be one at HOPE 6 (Hackers On Planet Earth 6). This year, with possibly (don't quote me on this yet details are not ironed out.) TOOOL-USA, LSI, and a few other groups and people from the Euro groups coming.

As I said competition at HOPE may or may not happen but we ARE running a lockpicking village with boards for people to pick and get prizes etc etc.

So the main ones are to the best of my knowledge are.

The Dutch Open
The Deutsche Open
LPCON

For the Non-locksmith lockpicking competitions.

Though I do see more on the horizon but I can't comment on that just yet.

If you have any questions, don't hestitate to post here or PM me.

-Eric.

Just stop it and re-start it with the stop and play buttons on the media player.
Do not close the media player.
It did the same thing to me and that solved the problem.

It is a very nice video!!
